Capacity Development Diplomatic Training for SADC Parliamentary Forum Staffers

In today’s global arena, an understanding of proper protocol and etiquette is in high-demand. It was for this reason that the Institute conducted a Capacity Building Protocol and Diplomacy training for the Southern Africa Development Community Parliamentary Forum Management and Staff in Windhoek, Namibia from 10-11 September 2018.  

The Workshop was designed to assist SADC PF Management and Staff acquire practical knowledge in Diplomacy; Diplomatic Practice; International, Domestic and State Protocol include, inter alia role of protocol and diplomacy in international engagements and the application of international business etiquettes including encompassing concepts, processes, procedures followed when dealing with state, diplomatic and corporate stakeholders.

The Workshop also highlighted the significance of International Business Protocol, Etiquette, Professional Grooming and Social Etiquette for SADC Parliamentary Forum operations and liaison with VVIps, Member States, Ministers and other distinguished cooperating partners. The Training covered a plethora of topics and simulations including International Diplomacy, Protocol Image, Self-Projection and Professional Grooming, Business Etiquette for International Civil Servants, Protocol at the Dining Table, Diplomacy: its Role and Function in Interstate Relations and Professional & Personal Branding.
