The Two day Municipal Diplomacy, Protocol, Professional Grooming and Customer Service Training conducted by the Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy on 8 and 9 March 2025 at the Kadoma Hotel and Conference Centre. The training covered Municipal Diplomacy and Protocol; Professional Grooming; Dressing and Deportment; Professional and Personal Effectiveness; the role of Cities and Local Authorities in the projection and implementation of Zimbabwe’s Domestic and Foreign Image; the Evolving Role of Local Authorities in Contemporary Diplomacy and International Relations; Desired Leadership Qualities for Local Authority Efficiency; Municipal Customer Service; Effective Communication and the Art of Handling Difficult, Co-workers, Bosses and Customers.
The Training is part of the Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy Capacity Development Programmes for Municipal and Local Governance Structures in fulfillment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.The training provided participants with practical tools to navigate everyday challenges, build stronger communication networks and improve service delivery in their communities. Councillors and administrators benefited from expert insights, case studies and real-life applications, which will empower them to better serve their constituencies.
As one participant shared, “The course was extremely insightful, equipping me with the skills to handle complex situations and communicate more effectively with the public.”
This training is crucial as it enhances the capacity of local leaders to work efficiently, both within Zimbabwe and on the international stage. With these newly acquired skills, participants are better positioned to foster growth and diplomatic relations while handling the nuances of leadership with confidence.
