The Ambassador of Nicaragua to Zimbabwe, H.E. Nadeska I. Cuthbert, delivered a special online lecture to diploma students at the Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy (ZID) on the topic: “The Impact of the Group of Latin American and Caribbean Countries (GRULAC) in Contemporary Diplomacy and International Relations.”
The Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy hosted this virtual lecture as part of its ongoing efforts to expose students to global diplomatic perspectives. Her Excellency shared insights on GRULAC’s role and influence in shaping international relations in the current global landscape.
Ambassador Cuthbert shared insightful perspectives on GRULAC’s evolving role in multilateral diplomacy, its advocacy for equitable global engagement and the importance of South-South cooperation. She also highlighted the region’s historical journey from struggles for independence to the growing momentum towards regional unity and cooperation.
She emphasized the shared values between Latin America, the Caribbean and Africa, particularly in the areas of sovereignty, social justice and international solidarity. The session also explored future opportunities for deeper inter-regional collaboration in diplomacy, trade and cultural exchange.
Attended by ZID students, faculty and diplomatic guests, the lecture underscored the Institute’s commitment to equipping its learners with diverse global diplomatic insights through engagement with seasoned international diplomats.
