TRAIN THE TRAINER: MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

The Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy ZID facilitated a 3-month program for the head coach of Sea Pride Company on a Train the Trainer program. Sea Pride is a premium regional food distributor functioning in Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. Its main aim is distributing high quality foodservices and promoting a vast diversity in food options within Southern Africa. The company tasked the Zimbabwe Institution of Diplomacy with training and mentorship of the head coach, Mr N. Ncube as a part of the company’s staff training program. The mentorship program was tailormade and designed to address issues of customer service and staff management. The Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy, through the Train the Trainer program suggests and offers mentorship for company executives for the benefit of staff interaction and training. The program touched on the following concept: training and training techniques; Effective Public Speaking and Presentation Skills for Trainers; Total Quality Management; Coaching and Mentorship Techniques; Qualities of a Good Training Manager; Report Writing Skills; Personal Effectiveness; Grooming, Deportment and Dressings for Trainers; Attributes of a Good Leader and Sales Management Techniques. The program equipped Sea Pride representative with vast knowledge prone to realign their work strategies for maximum production. The Train the Trainer program has also founded a stern relationship between the Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy and Sea Pride.
