ZID Celebrates Turkiye’s National Day
The Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy attended the National Day Celebrations for the Republic of Turkiye honoring historical, economic and cultural ties between the two nations. This auspicious event, held at the residence of the Ambassador in Harare, marked the 101th anniversary of Turkiye’s founding and showcased Turkiye’s rich heritage and commitment to progress. The commemoration highlighted the values of democracy, unity and national pride that resonate deeply within both countries. The festivity featured traditional Turkish music, dance and cuisine allowing guests to immerse themselves in Turkiye’s vibrant culture. The Ambassador of Turkiye, Her Excellency Berna Ksnaklic Versteden, insinuated the historical connections and shared interests that bind the two nations, paving way for future collaboration. In his speech, the Guest of Honor, Mr Charles Mashiri who represented the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe Honorable Amon Murwira, underscored that by fostering dialogue and understanding, both nations can continue to work together towards a brighter future grounded in mutual respect and cooperation. The national day reinforced the significance of diplomacy in addressing global challenges and promoting peace and stability.
