On 1 August 2025, the Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy proudly hosted its graduation ceremony for 26 outstanding graduates who successfully completed the Executive Certificate in Diplomacy, Protocol, Etiquette, and Professional Branding.
In a deeply moving and symbolic gesture, this year’s graduation was dedicated to the Palestinian Martyrs of the ongoing Israeli genocide, honouring their sacrifice and resilience in the face of immense suffering. Ambassador Dr. Tamer Almassri, the Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. In his heartfelt address, Ambassador Almassri thanked the Zimbabwean people for their unwavering solidarity with Palestine and encouraged the graduates to champion peace, justice and diplomacy in their respective spheres of influence.
Mr. V.A. Chikanda, Chairperson of the Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy, delivered an inspiring address to the graduates. He commended them for their commitment to excellence and urged them to carry forward the values of diplomacy, respect and professionalism.
“Today, you join the ranks of a distinguished community of diplomats, protocol specialists and leaders who are shaping the future of our nations and our world. Let your professionalism be guided not only by skill but also by empathy, justice and the courage to stand for what is right,” he said.
Mr. Chikanda also expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine, highlighting that diplomacy must always serve humanity and defend the dignity of all people. The ceremony not only celebrated academic and professional achievement but also served as a reminder of the role diplomacy plays in advancing human rights, fostering understanding and building bridges of unity across nations.
