The Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy (ZID) conducted a specialised training session for Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) Ushers ahead of their upcoming graduation ceremony. The high-level training was designed to prepare ushers for their critical role in managing one of the institute’s prestigious events which will host VVIP guests, government officials, academics and dignitaries.
The focus of the workshop included: the Art of Ushering; Diplomatic, Corporate and Social Protocol; the Art of Hosting and Managing Corporate Events; Business, Corporate and Social Etiquette; Professional Grooming, Deportment and Dressing for the Corporate World, as well as Communication, Customer Care and Customer Centricity in both corporate and academic contexts.
ZID facilitators also emphasised key protocol principles such as receiving and escorting high-level guests, managing stage and audience interactions and handling pressure with grace and composure. Particular attention was given to posture, tone of voice, deportment and team coordination, ensuring ushers are equipped to confidently represent HIT with distinction.
The Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy commended HIT for its commitment to prioritising excellence in ceremonial conduct.
