Capacity Building Training for the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe

The Institute conducted a five-day Workshop on Business Protocol, Etiquette and Professional Grooming for 250 Management and Staff members of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe from the 24th to the 28th of July 2017. The Workshop was part of the Institute’s pilot projects to mentor and empower bankers through Capacity Building Training Programs in Business Protocol, Business Diplomacy, Etiquette, Professional Grooming and Deportment.

This tailor-made Training Workshop was meant to mentor, refocus and rebrand the Management and Staff of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe and it emerged as a professional polishing tool focusing on professional aspects and essence of Diplomacy, Corporate and Social Protocol procedures in customer service delivery with a bias to the banking sector.

The keynote presentations delivered by Mr. V.A Chikanda for the different groups presented the case for greater emphasis on the practice and application of acceptable Business Etiquette, Formal/Social Etiquette, Exquisite Dining Etiquette, Conference Diplomacy, Boardroom meeting protocol, Networking and Marketing Etiquettes, Professionalism, as well as Image and Self projection.

The balance of the workshop consisted of interactive small group and plenary discussions and Workshop participants identified several key contextual factors that unpacked contemporary issues in relation to the rules of decorum in the banking environment and the business community at large.
