Happy Africa Day 2022

The Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy Board of Directors, the entire staff and the student body join the African continent and the World at large in celebrating Africa Day. We are proud to recognize the sacrifices made by dedicated, patriotic gallant sons and daughters of Africa, both fallen and living heroes to the liberation of our Africa.

We celebrate the socio-economic achievements of the continent and in line with the African Union Theme for the year 2022 Strengthening Resilience in Nutrition and Food Security on the African Continent: Strengthening Agro-Food Systems, Health and Social Protection Systems for the Acceleration of Human, Social and Economic Capital Development”. We celebrate our cultural diversity and heritage and our shared values and the spirit of Africanacity and pan-Africanism.

The Agenda 2063 adopted by our Union should fulfill the dreams of our children, who wonder why Africa is still behind in socio-economic development, why other children in other countries enjoy privileges and advantages which are out of the reach of African Youth. Our children believe we are their parents who must create environments for growth and enrichment of the future lives of Africa.

As we draw lessons from the past we remain resolute and resolved to further the African cause for economic liberation and development of our motherland. We are together as Africans to recognize those who want to divide us and rule us for united we stand and divided we fall. This day must call us to love and embrace each other knowing well that we are the richest continent in the world!

We are hopeful and fearless on this day that the Africa We Want is just around the corner and that the Almighty God will continue to give wisdom like he did during our struggles for political emancipation to our leaders to see the essence of a United States of Africa envisaged by our liberators like Kwame Nkrumar, Abdel Nasser, Patrice Lumumba, Kenneth Kaunda, Nelson Mandela, Joshua Nkomo and Robert Gabriel Mugabe to mention a few.
